When the "creators" at Marvel told us that Jean aka Dark Phoenix didn't die
on the Moon, and that in fact the entity we all thought was Jean aka Dark
Phoenix was not Jean Gray at all, but an alien who assumed Jean's identity
(while Jean's body repaired itself at the bottom of New York Harbor). Thus
it was not Jean who killed a planet full of sentient asparagus (at least
that's how John Bryne drew them), but this other. That wouldn't have been
so bad, I mean it *is* Marvel after all. But for Marvel to claim that this
was their intention all along (over at least ten years and countless
changes in the "creative" team) was too much to bear.
