His role is a real love/hate one going by the critiques I've read.
Jim Broadbent for me. And the old conductor inside Moulin early on in the
film.

Our Nic is really quite a good actor. Even when young she put in two amazing
characterisations in some Oz TV mini-series: "Vietnam" and "Bangkok Hilton".
If you see Bangkok Hilton at your video store, go for it. It also stars Hugo
Weaving (of The Matrix), Noah Taylor (of Tomb Raider and Shine) and Denholm
Elliott in one of his last roles. Very, very good. She hasn't been given
much to do in Hollywood - To Die For was probably one of her strongest roles
up til now, so thanks very much Mr Cruise.

I'd rather just treat Moulin Rouge as a movie.
