Apart from the photography, I really loved the way it was really a story
about two/three strong women. Quite a few Hong Kong films have strong female
roles, but Crouching Tiger took the whole thing far more than many western
films. Way more.
Admittedly, I fell deeply in love with Zhang Ziyi (Jen), and have long liked
Michelle Yeoh, but I felt that the characters they, and Chow Yun Fat, played
just seemed real. And yes, wonderful pacing, some good humour. Just a nice
film.
BTW: Maybe Michelle Yeoh for Gillian Baskin?
