I don't think you can blame patriarchal monotheistic religions for the
subjugation of women. If you think Christianity or Islam is to blame,
perhaps you should take a look at the cultural practices of China,
Africa and India, all of which are not monotheistic, and both practice
horrifying subjugation of women. And that's 2/3 of the population of
the planet right there.
I submit that overpopulation is NOT a christian problem, or a catholic
problem, or a mormon problem. For crying out loud, we can easily look
at all the countries that have a catholic majority and find many that
have zero or negative population growth. Italy and Ireland come to
mind...in fact they are perhaps the most catholic countries in
existance. But why do they have low birth rates? I submit that gender
equality is the basis for population control.
Instead of complaining about religion, or greed, or agriculture, or
capitalism, perhaps you should consider that countries where women
control their fertillity have low birthrates. The solution ot
overpopulation is political and social freedom, not changing religions
or authoritarianism.
