Which is a darned interesting premise for a series.
I'm up to "The Naked God" book in Peter Hamilton's sprawling Night's Dawn
epic (translation: over 3600 pages, plus I just found a prequel). In it, one
of the characters is... well... let's just say he's not that far from
Torquemada meets a B5 Technomage. It's quite easy to imagine a "Catholics...
In... Spaaaaaace!" series.
