I wouldn't worry too much. This is more on-topic than
landmines or "Shrub: Cute, Affectionate Nickname or
Uncivil Partisan Attack?"... ;-)

Another Heinlein from this era that should be added is
Beyond This Horizon. DB hated the gun-play, but loved the
morality and common sense of its approach to genetic
engineering.

All of these belong in the Brin List Books List, depending
on the size of the list. There are others in thi list that
I'd vote for, which I didn't mention, because they aren't
all in a nice little lump like this group. :-)

Kinda sad that the Zelazny co-won a Hugo, and I've never
even heard of it. Dune definitely belongs on the list, if
for no other reason than that the Brinmeister gave a good
rant about it. ;-)

Definitely the entire series needs to be in the list.

I first read about that year's award in a copy of USA
Today, while I was on a trip during my summer surveying
job. I was pleasantly surprised that USA Today would
even mention the Hugos. It was also one of those rare
Hugos where I'd read both books (or even the one book)
before they won the award.
