<<The viewpoint of the government of Israel is that the bombing was directed from that police station. They feel that the Palestinian police provide the leadership and the know how to accomplish at least some of the bombings. They do have a fairly decent intelligence operation, so it is quite possible
that this understanding is well founded. (I'm trying to choose my words precisely here...)>>
It is.
<<The view of the government of Israel is that their choice is to either sit back and let their people be killed without harm coming to those directing the attacks or to hit back at those directing and/or allowing the attacks to take place. I'm not saying I concur with their policy, but it is one that can be understood.>>
Then you are more understanding than me. Hitting back is not enough. We need better propaganda policy. Every house in the world (or almost every?) saw Palestinian boy killed in crossfire in the beginning of Intifada (you don't need BA to see that he was killed by Palestinian fire - he was hiding behind the wall with his father - the reporter who took the picture stood on Palestinian side of the wall. do you believe that bullet got through beton wall and killed the boy?). But when 23 people were killed in Tel Aviv, most of them under 17, even in Israel not everybody knows their names. Days before *that* bomb was buried Faical Husseini. Several days later, after another bombing, Israel closed down Orient House. There were many fascinating documents there - about giving money to terrorists, enlisting kamikaze terrorists, also about Faical Husseini robbing his people blind. It got some inches in daily papers. Regular news, no big letters. Current Palestinian leadership is interested in intifada going on and on. There is not such thing as "Palestinian Industry". Money is given from all the world and it sinks into leadership pockets. Egypt doesn't let Palestinians in to work. Nor Jordan. Did you know it? I bet you knew when Israel did the same thing. <SIGH>
