I'm a little calmer and more charitble this week (must have gotten some
sleep this weekend..) and reread what I wrote and cringed. I still feel
mroe or less the same way, but my words were harsher, stronger than need
be, to the point that they misrepresent what I think.

As for nukes.. well, one of the joys of insomnia is lots of time being
awake at night listening to the radio, and let me tell you, "Nuke 'em
all" fever is whipping itself up to a frenzy out there.

Yes, I know talk radio isn't represntative, but its the viewpoint that
people are being exposed to - a la the "Rush Revolution" in the early
90s.

A "few" isn't an entire Seattle bus breaking into applause when someone
who'd we'd normally not sit next to started ranting about how "we ain't
gonna let no slanty towel-heads from China or India keep us the fuck
down" - this bus was full of the usual cross-demographic on the 70 from
downtown to the University. People were applauding and babbling to one
another about all the technical details of blasting a chunk of central
Asia away.

Ever notice how events breed experts?

I'm a red-headed septuple-scorpio with insomnia - I'm prone to giddiness
and crankiness as a condition.. it makes life interesting, but I'm also
good at saying "yikes.. sorry about that"
