Hi Jon, good post.   Somebody should probably save this exchange as a
textbook example of how to step backwards from misinterpretation in a
civilized manner.

Actually, this is a bad example, since abortion is a very real
public-policy issue.   A better example might be those people who would not
vote for a candidate who unashamedly practices adultery.
