Its a ...

Well, let me tell a true story.

Back in 1935, Brazil was under the dictorial g*vernment of
Getulio Vargas, and the communists tried to take over Brazil,
by converting some people in the army. The coup detat
would be performed at night, and the commies were assigned
to kill the non-commies while they were sleeping.

They failed.

And there followed a sequence of arrests - with lots
of "justified" violence.

The Communist Leader was Luis Carlos Prestes, who had
a lot of military experience. He was arrested, and placed
in a very harsh prison cell, incommunicado, etc.

His lawyer, Sobral Pinto, tried everything to get in
contact with him, and everything was denied because
it was an emergency, we were at war, etc.

So, he demanded that his client had *animal* rights, and
his animal rights were being violated. With this loophole,
he could somehow relax Prestess prison.

[[ this didnt save Prestess wife, Olga Benario, who was
a german. She was sent to Hitler, who killed her; she
was also a jew, a communist, and she had some murders in
her past history. However, their son was *not* killed,
and lives until today ]]

This sounds like a violation of animal rights to me...
