I tend to copy and paste from the last e-mail I read on a particular subject when I'm responding. The AOL software throws in the "XXX wrote" for me and I usually ignore it. Sorry 'bout that. << >> See if you follow and agree with my line of reasoning here: I don't really follow, no. Especially not this part > You may disagree with their tactics, and you may disagree with the > killing of innocents but you should not fault them for acting to > preserve themselves. I specifically said I did not want to discuss or assign fault, but rather was discussing actions that could be taken to bring about peace. Are you suggesting that the current situation, if it continues without significant change, is likely to lead to peace? >> And I'd thought that what I wrote was overly simplified. What I am saying is that terrorism will not lead to peace because it is an act of warfare. Every act of terrorism is a signal to an opposing government that said terrorists cannot be reasoned with peacefully. Terrorism itself is a direct act against the citizens a goverment is in place to protect. Therefore, they (the terrorists) must be dealt with forcefully and removed from threatening positions to preserve the safety of that government's citizenry. Jon
