It's not just that it supports legacy systems going back 20 years, it 
the new non-PC stuff as well - Palm Pilots, GSM Mobile Phones, Motor 
Vehicle Infomatics, Scientific Equipment, CAD/CAM machinery, all of 
which can be internet connected, and receive updates via email, ftp, 
whatever...

I know how much I hate it when I send an email from my Palm via the 
mobile, and someone replies using Outlook, complete with vcf file, 
background image, signature icon and fancy fonts....
