Bad news for the Christians, then... :-( BTW, before people start believing I hate Christians, I do not believe that Christianity in itself is intolerant and anti-life; as with Islam, it is the fundamentalist minority that gives religion a bad name. > About Koran - did *you* read it? Jerusalem is not mentioned there, but > as far as I remember - Jihad is. No, I have not read the Koran yet. But you (plural!) will be pleased to hear that this is about to change. About two hours ago I came back from my lunch break, which I spent in the bookstore. I came out with a copy of both the Koran (in Dutch and Arabic; they did not have an English version) and the Bible (in English). They did not have a copy of the Talmud and the Zohar. One thing I cannot figure out, though: I bought the cheapest edition of both the Koran and the Bible, but for some reason the Bible was 3.592 times as expensive as the Koran... (I also returned from my lunch break with a copy of the Pink Floyd album "The Wall" in my bag, but I suppose that is irrelevant to this discussion. <grin> ) > I asked > <<Did you read Bible, Talmud, Zohar?>> > Jeroen wrote > <<The bible? Some of it. Talmud? No. Zohar? Never even heard of it. > Maybe you should send me a copy of both as a X-mas gift...>> > Talmud is too big :-( What now, too big? Do you mean that FedEx does not have an office in Israel? :-) Is the Talmud not printed in various sizes? The Bible I bought is a fairly small book (approx. 20 x 15 x 2 centimeter), but I have also seen copies that are so big and heavy you can beat someone to death with it. (My copy of the Koran is even smaller; approx. 10 x 15 x 3 centimeter; awfully small print, though.) > If I'll find Zohar in English I'll get in touch with you. Yep. Hebrew and a few other languages. > I am not asking anybody to learn it, who does not have to. But you > *can* try learning Russian. :-) Now, why would I want to do that? AFAIK, Brin-L does not have any subscribers from Russia, and if there are, they will have to speak English anyway. The only thing I see coming out of Russia is spam, but even that is written in English... :-) Jeroen _________________________________________________________________________ Wonderful World of Brin-L Website: http://www.Brin-L.com Tom's Photo Gallery: http://tom.vanbaardwijk.com
