That story came from an article in the London Sunday Times from Nov. 15th, 1998. The article reported that *according to Israeli and western intelligence sources*, Israel was working on a biological weapon that would harm Arabs but not Jews. It dit therefore not claim "race bombs exist", it reported about rumours that such a device existed. Full article at http://www.mideastfacts.com/ethno_bomb.html > IIRC, there were also false reports of illegal weapons (do I remember > radioactive) on a plane that crashed in the Netherlands in another. In October 1992, an El Al Boeing 747-200 cargo jet crashed into an apartment building in Amsterdam, killing at least 43 people and injuring dozens. >From http://www.prop1.org/2000/du/99du/990422.iht.htm: > In the almost seven years since the disaster, rescue workers and > hundreds of residents of Bijlmer have reported chronic health > complaints ranging from neurological disorders to nausea. Maybe the cargo was deadly, maybe it was not. However, the word "sarin" alone was enough to decide to err on the side of auction and suspect the presence of weapons on board. And there were more reasons to be suspicious. Witnesses reported "man in white suits" at the crash scene shortly after the crash; investigations into this were inconclusive, which means that those men were not send there by the Dutch authorities. It was also not helpful that El-Al for a long time failed to produce the plane's freight papers. So, this too was not a case of "false reports". The media published the information they had at the time; only later it was discovered that some of the information was incorrect. And that is something that can (and will) happen to any news agency.
