I think one should not worry tremendously about the exact relationship
between Passover and the day of the last supper.  For one thing, the
synoptic gospels and John don't agree on the day.  For another, the time
that month that Passover is in (Nissian (sp)) was variable.  The high
priests would check the road conditions and determine if that month was
next, or if another month needed to be stuck in to allow the roads to
improve.  This factored into the outrage at the killing of the leader of the
Essenes written in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
