Indeed, here is a better analogy.
In the 17th Century, the Tucarora Indians migrated from North Carolina
north to New York State to become the 7th Tribe of the Iroquois. The
current situation in the Middle East would then be analogous to separating
out Cherokee, Tuscarora, and Iroquois homelands....
