utterly false. the US Army did *not* use penal battalions (i assume that is 
what you mean by fine battalions) during WW2 (despite the movie "The Dirty 
Dozen".) second, after the war the Americans and Brits sent people back to 
the Soviet Union, who didn't want to go, condemning many of them to death. 
just more Soviet propaganda.
