Kevin Tarr. 34, single and straight, 1 cat named cat. I live in Middletown, PA just south of Harrisburg. I can see the airport from the front of my house and Three Mile Island from the back. Born and raised in a small town in north central PA. Much older brother and sister. Everyone I knew growing up was older than me. All of my grandparents were born before 1900.
In '88 I got an AS in electrical engineering technology (I didn't officially get it until 1994, but it says 1988). I got my BS in 2000. For the last six years I didn't have time for anything, it seemed. My life was work/school/drive/sleep. I am just starting to live normally again. I've never worked at one place for more than three years and most jobs only lasted one year. I've always had good reasons for moving on, never been fired or anything like that. Two weeks ago I started with the state of PA as a computer programmer. Hopefully I can stay with them for 30 years. Because of the jobs I've had I can do a lot of things: welding; carpentry; plumbing; mechanical, electronic, and electrical repair; and more 'highbrow' tasks. I've read sci-fi forever. I remember reading Dune to my brother while he drove. He and his wife have enough books that as they remodeled their house they just built shelves on almost all the walls. It wasn't until the early '90s that I read anything else and then I only added Tom Clancy and Larry McMurtry. Lately I've read mostly fantasy because I rarely know what there is new and good in sci-fi. I have more time now to read so this will change. Hobbies: I play a lot of computer games. I like table-tops but haven't played any in a long while. Skiing, hiking, bike riding, horseshoes, and firearm related activities. I am scarily out of shape so it will be a while before I am doing these things full speed again. Music: I hate rap, hip-hop, boy-bands and new country. I will listen to almost anything else. I love '70 - 80s heavy rock. Movies and tv: Kevin Smith first, comidies, sci-fi and sports. I'll watch grass grow on TV. (I'm always doing something else while watching TV). I know the culture list has a web-related site that lets people put up their bio and pictures, but I don't have a link.
