The usual way of the media is that there is a tendency for the journalists
to be liberalistic (US, democrat; Aust/Britain, Labor) but for the
proprietors to be conservative.

When you think about who becomes a journalist, someone who questions
assumptions by nature etc, that should not be too surprising. There is also,
at least here, a tendency for highly educated people to swing towards Labor.
Probably the same in the States, although the libertarians might swing
things the other way a bit.

You might also find, as I've been told by a number of practising journalists
here in Australia, that many if not most journalists do not vote. The reason
being that many journalists, certainly the better ones, do try not to favour
one side over the other.
