I meant to make the point that AutoCAD can load and save in .dxf. So I can trade files with AutoCAD, as long as I can ask the person with AutoCAD to choose Save As...dxf. > But it would be worth the cost of AutoCAD LT (no more than $800, in > Dan's estimation) to have the ability to share the file with the > architect if you were doing something weird with your custom house. > Which we apparently are. If you have a few minutes, you might want to try saving the plan in R12 dxf from AutoCAD and we could check if QCad can read it without any glitches. By the way, do programmer's get site licenses for the programs they work on? I was just wondering whether you are allowed to use more than one copy of AutoCAD in your house at the same time (by different people). It is nice to get AutoCAD for free. If I could get it for free, I probably would keep it around so that I didn't have to ask for .dxf's when I'm at home and I get sent a .dwg. -- "Erik Reuter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.erikreuter.com/
