The kitchen stuff in question is stuff like extra mugs (we don't need
access to 30 ceramic mugs at one time most of the time), those tall ice
cream dishes (don't know why we have them, really), etc. Plus stuff we
might use if we were actually doing more entertaining than, say,
inviting 3 people over to watch the Super Bowl, or the occasional couple
over for dinner. Plus we haven't used the rice steamer or the wok in a
couple of years, I figure we won't need to use them in the next 6
months. Etc.
And when Dan met me, I knew a lot more about cooking than he did. These
days, I do more of the actual cooking of dinner, but when he cooks on
the weekend, he brings a certain artistry to it.
Oh, and I don't really enjoy cooking all that much, but it has to be
done, and most of the time, Dan is appreciative, so that makes up for
some of the lack of enjoyment.
