Your question does not logically follow from your statement.  Invert it, and
you get something like "Religion is based in faith.  In what way does faith
disprove science?"

The anti-evolution creationists use that logic... but it makes no more sense
to me than what you suggest.

I think a more appropriate question for Dan would be to explain what he
meant when he said they intersect.  I doubt if he meant that either is the
foundation of the other, as you would have science be relative to religion.
