Hi, Robert, The markup you refer to occurs when someone sends a message to the list using HTML instead of "plain text": the HTML codes are sometimes not properly interpreted by all mail readers, hence they come through as visible text instead of causing the message text to be bold, italicized, etc. This has been discussed on the list before and most of us try to use plain text only. However, if anyone is sending mail from an AOL address, there is no way to set the output to "plain text": AOL requires its users to use its own e-mail program, which only produces messages in HTML. Hopefully the number of messages in the digest which originate from AOL addresses is a small enough fraction of the total that it will not distract you too much. -- Ronn! :) God bless America, Land that I love!
