Not knowing how exactly the digest works, couldn't it 'process' the e-mail
before it sends it? I'm assuming that this 'digest' is a bulk mailing, one
giant e-mail that has the days or weeks posts in order received. When I
reply to a HTML e-mail I have to change the setting to plain text, it
removes all the code. Some software should be able to do that for us in the
same way.
If not, let's write it up and sell it! We could be bankrolling our annual
party! What language do I need to learn?

This has been covered onlist by Julia at least twice in the past 6 months -- check the Yahoo archives for the long answer. The short version: 'No, the digest can't be changed or pre-edited before sending due to limitations imposed by the Cornell server.'
