<< How could one assume that someone who says this will not tolerate any

criticism of Israel? One could argue that Tom misidentified posts as

anti-Semitic, but since he calls the Prime Minister of Israel a murderer,

one would have to logically conclude that he considers himself anti-Semitic

if he considers everyone who criticized Israel as anti-Semitic. I don't

think Tom is crazy enough to be a Jewish anti-Semite. :-)

To me, the logical conclusion is that he considers some, but not all,

criticism of Israel as anti-Semitic. If one generalizes, that's an

established fact. The quotes from GB that Gautem posted are definately

anti-Semetic. Tom's statement is not. >>

Um...can I speak here on my own behalf? ;)

I think there are times when it is imperative to be critical of something you
love. For any Jew to sit by while Israel pursues a policy that is both
counter-productive and wrong is not love but indifference. The current prime
minister of Israel is endangering the country as well as being a jerk.

That said, however, the Palestinians are not making it easy for any Israeli
to argue for peace. The terrorists, of course, don't want peace and are doing
everything they can to keep it from happening. But even the mainstream
Palestinians aren't doing much to assure Israelis that they really want to
live in peace with the Jewish state.

Still, Israel is the party with the most to lose; it's risky, but they should
refuse to be provoked by their enemies into doing what the enemies want. They
should go the extra mile to force a just settlement on the Palestinians so
they can do what they really want to do, which is to simply walk away from
them. But that's easy for any of us to say who don't live there and have to
face the possibility that just walking down a street may turn out to be a
fatal mistake.

And, for the record, I may be crazy, but no, I'm not a Jewish anti-Semite.
And no, I do not consider all criticism of Israel to be anti-Semitic. I do,
however, think that when some people criticize Israel all the time no matter
what it does, and don't criticize anyone else for similar or worse actions,
then yes - I do think that is motivated at least to a certain extent by
Jew-hatred. Given the history of being Jewish - 2000 years of being murdered
simply for being Jewish - I'd be crazy not to.
