1) When Arafat asks for a cease fire terrorist attacks lessen. This indicates that Arafat/the PA have some legitimacy and moral authority. That is they are listened to. 2) The US and Israel believe that the PA is not using its full police power to prevent terrorist actions. 3) Between items #1 and #2 the PA could probably considerably reduce terrorist activity. > * Indpendently of what Sharon believes, is Jeroen's assertion > correct? 4) Nevertheless, Jeroen's assertion is partially correct.
