Yes, there were quite a few of his transparency ideas in there. What other stuff did he use? Do you think that Mr. Brin is becoming more of a "message" author? I know his books have always had implicit themes in them, but this one seems to have more thematic content than most. (Not that that's a bad thing. It's just an observation.) Kevin Street
