Bad news . . . That would be a pretty good description of the one I tried to upgrade about a year or so ago (a 200MHz processor, which was a '97 upgrade from the original 100MHz 486DX that it came with in '95, but otherwise . . . ). I had a total of about 6GB on two hard drives, and they were absolutely packed. So I got an 80GB drive. Upon putting it in, the BIOS would only recognize it as 8GB, no matter what was tried. Are you running the first or second (OEM) version of Win 95? I know for sure the first version will not support any hard drive partition larger than 2GB. The second version uses FAT32, and may recognize larger partitions (anyone know for sure?), but was only made available if you bought a whole new computer after it was released. This means you will need to upgrade to Win 98 2E at least, which will cost about another $90 for the upgrade version. And it's possible your old computer won't allow you to upgrademine wouldn't: on attempt after attempt the upgrade would run about halfway, then hang. It turned out to be cheaper to look in the want ads and find a newer (less than one y. o. at the time) machine than to try to upgrade everything piecemeal. I was lucky enough to be able to afford it at the time, although money has been tight since . . . -- Ronn! :) God bless America, Land that I love!
