There is the problem right there!
Evolution is not a cause but a description of something that occurs in
nature. It doesnt really state a cause in and of itself other than the
passage of time.
There are many things that can cause evolutionary change, but they are not
directly addressed by the theory of evolution, even though they are
endlessly speculated upon.
