*Houston area gets many more tornados each year that the Austin area.

* We dont do storm shelters in the Houston area.

* Living in one of the most tornado frequent counties in the US, I have
actually seen 1 tornado and I was in a different county at the time. But I
have had tornados pass overhead of me on several occasions, somewhat scary,
but I was not in any particular danger.

* Hurricanes are a greater danger, even as far inland as Austin. (flooding
if nothing else)
