All advertising is a form of propaganda. But before now their was no feedback mechanism. The ability to have a feedback loop greatly improves the propagandist's (advertisers) ability to direct people to their view/product/brand. It also reinforces a class system. You get the propaganda that every one in your 'market segment' gets. What really irritates me is some of the things that these companies do to get data, is they target children, who don't know / unaware of the problem with giving away that kind of data.
