Now, if you're working for the ISP and they're providing you with your
connection at home so you can do some after-hours trouble-shooting
remotely, and you've called in late or sick, and you have a history of
surfing way too late and not coming in on time, your boss and co-workers
may look to see if you were, in fact, surfing way too late and what
sorts of sites you were hitting.
If you were viewing porn at 3AM, your calling in may be regarded as a
little suspect. If your last connection was to check e-mail at 9:30PM,
your calling in sick is probably legit.
That was the only tracking of websites viewed that I was aware of while
I was working at an ISP. (And yes, someone habitually came in late
after viewing porn in the wee hours of the morning, and it wasn't me.)
