Well, there was Peggy Noonan. Also a rather young woman from the Clinton
Administration I couldn't recognize. Noonan was Reagan's truly remarkable
speechwriter - often called the best in America. She wrote Reagan's
legendary "The Boys of Point du Hoc" speech, among many others. She now
writes a column for the Wall Street Journal, and is one of The West Wing's
token Republicans, along with Marlin Fitzwater, who was also on the show.
I was kind of amused by David Gergen. I like him a lot, but I swear that
man has about four stories which he tells over and over again. His office
is a couple of floors down from mine, which might be part of it.
