I don't distrust Jeroen. Who I distrust is folks who might stumble upon
Jeroen's "shame" list and draw unwarranted conclusions from it, as was more
eloquently stated by someone else in a previous post within the past day or
so.
I have 2 reasons for not liking the idea of a "shame" list, and I had typed
a long email discussing how I think a summary "shame" list works against
DB-style transparency, but I think my second reason for not liking a "shame"
list is stonger, and more important in terms of this list:
A "shame" list is not very friendly, and on this list aren't we all supposed
to be friendly?
Posting a public list of other people's faults is not a very friendly
action, and divides us into "us vs. them." I though on this list, we always
tried to be *inclusive*.
