Actually, the law they're opposed to has a lot more to it than just
copy-protected CDs.
A strict reading of the proposed law would make it illegal for me to
tape ER on Thursday night and watch it on Saturday (when I actually have
*time* to watch).
The copy-protected CDs are just the tip of the iceberg.
