EFF = Electronic Frontier Foundadion  (see http://eff.org/ for more
info, or read _The Hacker Crackdown_ by Bruce Sterling, the entire text
can be found online somewhere)

CDA = Communications Decency Act (or something like that) which was
declared unconstitutional.  See

GOP = Grand Old Party, a nickname of the Republican Party, and the
acronym has a lot less characters to type than "Republican Party"
