Madge definitely had an Australian accent on our screens, it may have been either dubbed or even re-filmed for our audience, who were very parochial in those days. Even now, pretty much all our ads are locally produced (AOL, KFC, Coke etc) or redubbed (Microsoft, Film trailers, Motorola, Pepsi, Levis). McDonalds (and probably Coke) use a combination of local ads and redubbed US ads. The only ads I can think of off the top of my head with American voice over are Dell, John West and Jim Beam.
