They're less than optimal on *some* surfaces, such as mirrors, glass, etc. with no variation in color or texture. But otherwise it's worth the extra $20+ just for the fact that they don't stick, and you won't have to open it up and clean the ball & rollers when the mouse only moves to the left. -- Matt
