I like "enabler". Oh, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you
all for your great ideas and insightful comments. I'm not sure I'll
have time to write detailed replies in the near future but I very much
appreciate the effort that you've all put in, and it's reminded me why
I like Brin-L so much.

In reply to Ronn, I finished reading _The Mythical Man Month_ today and
I've recently read DeMarco and Lister's _Peopleware_, which is an
excellent book too. It's nice that not only these books but opinion here
on Brin-L (and on the Culture) largely seems to support my own
intuitions about how these things should be done.
