When I read Bush's demand that Arafat has to go, I understood where he was coming from. I also doubt things will change while he is the Palestinian leader. However, the idea that the President of the largest democracy/republic/call it what you will would demand the removal of an elected official astounds me. We tell other countries all the time how great democracy is, and how they should adopt it. Then we say "We don't care if you voted for Arafat, we don't like him and we want him gone." The irony is staggering. Jim ------------------------------------------------ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
