I am sure at least some of our European members are familiar with Ravensburger games, but I imagine they may not be well known by our American folks.
Over the past couple of years, we've gotten a couple of excellent boardgames from this Danish (I think) company. They're a little pricey, but the quality and game play is top notch. We have a track buildng and car racing game called Grand Prix that my son loves, and a find the treasures/memory game called Enchanted Forest my daughter enjoys. They're less flashy than most American games, and a little slower paced, but it's a good change. Their construction is sturdy (the pawns in Enchanted Forest are actually made of wood, to my amazement) and they're challenging. Take a look at the company if you can find English information on it; the only website I found was http://www.ravensburger.de/, and it's clearly not in English. :) They do games for all ages, and while we have their younger kids' games, a few of the others in their catalogues look good for grownups.
