True, but that doesn't equate to "So, in order to make your experience better, you require others to avoid saying things that upset you." If it does, I'm missing some nuance here. But after re-reading Nick's post, I get the impression he is of the mind that if he avoids reading things that upset him, he won't understand the community he is involved with. He didn't say that that community *shouldn't* upset him, only that if it does, and he ignores it, he won't be able to grasp its style and substance properly.
