Malmkvist / WWW.PowerCad.dk ::Cloak disengaged:: Don't get too hopeful... this is just something I am doing for my own portfolio, not for a film venture. Here's the scoop on Startide Rising and related films (I've kept in touch with DB about this as I have an interest in it): A couple years ago, Paramount optioned the rights for Startide Rising and and the second uplift trilogy books. Mace Neufeld was interested in the project. The situation was really bad timing though because shortly after Paramount got the rights, Mace Neufeld Moved to Sony. Since Paramount had the rights, not Mace Neufeld, the project was abandoned. When the option came up for renewal, Paramount let it lapse. Startide fell by the wayside. David Brin, Trevor Sands (the screenplay writer), and a few others are trying to generate interest at other studios, but nothing has really happened with that yet. Another studio expressed interest in Uplift War, but again, nothing solid has happened with that yet. My last update on that situation was only a few months ago, if something has happened since, I am not aware of it. No, I am not going back on what I said, I am done working on my computer for the day, and I was just checking if I recieved any important emails and decided to check for replies to my post. I only checked a handful of the messages in the rather huge digest. ::Cloak engaged:: Michael Harney [EMAIL PROTECTED] We do not inherit the Earth from our parents; we borrow it from our children. - Native American Phylosophy
