Not that they are alive in any sense of the word, but Israeli missiles also have much the same effect. Both sides think they are in the right and are merely retaliating to the other's attacks and both sides are quite cheerfully killing civilians, including children. I think the whole situation is beyond salvation at this point but hell, I'm a cynic.
