Today at a used bookstore that is actually a used media store but won't change their name because it just wouldn't be as cool, I saw a used DVD of Lord of the Rings.
Already. If we all totally twist the English language, I'm thinking of redoing the slogan of the king of kitchen gadgets: See it and fergee it. See a movie that took a few years of hundreds of peoples lives. Move on to the next movie. Excellent special effects. So what. Another movie comes out next week with even more special effects. Word is out in Hollywood that high budget movies can be made or broken on just one weekend's take. We are living in a world of disposable excellence and the epic has now become mundane. What's the rant? Not much. Just expect that no matter how spectacular or how close to the book the movie Startide Rising is going to be, someone you know is going to say, "It was OK. What's next?" Who's making noise while I'm on me bum?" ---one of the lines that was cut from Jack and the Beanstalk due to overt censorship. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
