Reading the labels of the foods you buy will do more with less effort.

I found that most (semi-) prepared foods/snacks/cookies/ready to use
ingredients for meals contain so much sugar that you might as well save
yourself the trouble of dieting and start avoiding those. I've really had to
laugh at the goats (derogatory word for those women with near perfect figures
complaining to me [of all people] about how fat they look), ingesting special
diet stuff, training 'till their tongues touched the ground and then eating
one off those nice low fat yoghurts which after close inspection turn out to
be 20 grams of sugar for every 100 grams of product.<evil grin>] :oD. I'd say
to be aware of what you eat is half the battle.
