DSL problems

I need a little bit of advice/help. My internet has slowed down recently, slowed down a lot. The mail crawls in, web sites come in hickups, it will half load then stop, then finish seconds later. Any advice, any tools I can run to check the service, where the bottleneck is?

I have proxomitron on, but disabled it to see if that was the problem, it wasn't. Great program, wish I had it at work.

I had this trouble before with DSL. It was great for a few months, then went horrible. But back then I couldn't connect at all for weeks at a time. customer service was okay, but I got tired of doing the same things each day with no result.
