Again, I dont think this is a case of binary options.

I have great faith that Eileen is a good person with good intent. I also
believe that as a student she had greater and more personally important
priorities than administering a mailing list.

In this case, hindsight is 20/20 and I have a personal distaste for second
guessing people in Eileens position. It was not a good position for her to
be in and I imagine it sucked mightily at times.

What I would have prefered to have seen happen; and again, I want to avoid
pointing fingers, laying blame, or finding fault in anyones actions because
my concern is for the future; is for Eileen to have made some sort of
statement.
FREX:

"I find myself forced by circumstances to kick Mark from the list. Some of
you will not like this, but you have your fellow listmembers to blame or to
thank. As primary listowner I have a responsibility and have to answer to
the listproviders at Cornell. Complaints must be responded to, but I have
little time to administer the list *and* give my studies the attention *I*
deserve.

As it stands I have given the list a Markendectomy. If I continue to be
distracted from my education by petty squabbles from Brin-L, I will perform
a Listendectomy. I can promise you my education will come first. Sorry to be
so blunt, but I feel obligated to make my priorities known"

(I hope that reflects the actual state things were in at the time, if I have
stated things incorrectly I apologise)
This is a statement that I would have felt bound to respect.
We had no right to infringe upon Eileens education or her standing at school
in any way. I dont think she volunteered for that kind of service.

Nowdays, we are not in such a position. We are in Nicks court now, and if we
infringe upon his life in any way that matters (to Nick or his family), I
hope that he will be as blunt and honest as he needs to be.

I am for our future. Finding blame in our past is a waste of time and is
potentially harmful to our community.
