Haven't yet read the rest of this thread, but this topic has been getting a lot of play in media, publishing, software and music circles lately. The problem here is essentially one of copyrights and ownership, and unless you've set up a company like Napster and are flagrantly flouting the law, you're probably no more than a gnat in the greater scheme of things i.e. doing little to affect sales. In case anyone is curious, The Economist's circulation worldwide is 315,293. (Source: Ad kit from the Economist Group of London). Cost of a full page ad is approx $14,000.From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: NASA Date: Wed, 20 Nov 2002 15:17:02 +0100> -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: John D. I know this isn't exactly the situation you're referring to, since salon.com's content is not printed and sold in hardcopy form, but I've posted a few articles here that were from the Premium section of salon. i had no personal problem with doing so, either, as long as it was a very infrequent occurence. I've probably posted 5(?) over a 2 year period and have, I'm pretty sure, in no way injured the publication by my actions. They put out on average, over a MB of text a day in articles, and I'm sure my 5-15K every few months to this small group isn't gonna break the bank. :-)
Just my .02 pesos.
