No, but the *zoo* will nail you for it. And they'll have great
documentation as to just what the expenses associated with the zebra
were, and would get you for the full amount. And you'd have absolutely
*no* sympathy from anyone. At least in the case of a pedestrian
incident, some might have sympathy if you'd tried to avoid hitting the
pedestrian, or the pedestrian had engaged in thoroughly unsafe behavior
leading up to your hitting him.
Dan's worst nightmare regarding driving around here is that one night
he'll hit one of the zebras. Never mind that there are probably
hundreds of cows, tens of horses and scores of non-zebra exotic herd
animals, and only 3 zebras -- but it's the zebra nightmare every time.
(I'd worry more about one of the dark horses, because I'd see the zebra
in the headlights sooner than a dark horse, and they're more top-heavy
than cows and bigger than any of the other animals kept around here.
About the only thing that would be worse would be a deer or a moose,
IMO. And if you hit a moose, there's a very good chance that accident
will kill you. Glad we don't have moose around here....)
